The mission: Making digital gifts beautifully dreamy
Since 2015, I’ve been on a mission that has grown bigger and more meaningful every year: to stage and celebrate digital gifting in a dreamily beautiful way — with suspense, magic, anticipation, and moments of surprise.
The beginnings of veryuu
The first version of the platform veryuu.de went online in 2018. I wanted to find out how I could send joy into the world through digital gifts. From the very beginning, it was exciting. Using paid content on Instagram, I tested the idea in many countries: How do people respond? Who reacts? Who visits my website?
It was so fascinating that I kept refining the idea and the product more and more.
What started as “giving joy on a platform” evolved into something very concrete: digital packaging.
The joy of developing
I am someone who doesn’t give up — a developer, an athlete, a fighter. I learn a lot and I love challenges. My favorite challenge? Giving joy.
While some people read novels, I read non-fiction, concepts, portraits. I write, write, and write. I revise and rethink, pause and reflect, reshape and start again. That’s what development is.
The love for wrapping
I have always loved wrapping gifts — and giving them. Unwrapping a gift can be such a beautiful experience. I adore staging gifts and seeing people smile when they feel joyfully anticipated and appreciated. I love presenting gifts with heart, with glitter, with charm.
My friends always look forward to my bows and my enthusiasm for gifting. They savor the moment of unwrapping and think: this — exactly this.
As a teenager, my dream job was “gift wrapper.” What could be more beautiful than creating small dream worlds? I am a wrapping magic queen through and through. And I believe everyone should be able to wrap gifts beautifully and enjoy it the way I do: magically, beautifully, with anticipation and appreciation. Because gifting is connection — whether small or big, digital or analog.
Digital gifts need new forms
Digital doesn’t mean cold, fast, or emotionless. Digital is full of glitter and fun — everywhere and anytime, around the world, wonderfully versatile. Physical gifts are wrapped in paper; digital gifts are wrapped in animations, stories, games, and interactions.
Many years, many ideas, many people were sources of inspiration — and from a heartfelt passion project grew an international product: a gift wrapping solution that takes digital gifting to an entirely new level.
Professional background & life experience
I have been a journalist for 30 years (business, sports, culture, science). I was a high-performance athlete. I studied communication design. I curated Berlin artists at what was then the oldest gallery in Berlin, the Kleine Humboldt-Galerie.
I’ve always worked a lot — rarely little. I love my creative worlds. I have two children and I know one thing for sure: hidden, colorful surprises make eyes light up.
